With the limited number of 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari hybrid supercars built, it hasn’t been easy for the media to conduct instrumented testing. On this episode of “Ignition,” Motor Trend’s Carlos Lago finally gets some hard numbers on the Italian supercar at Ferrari’s Fiorano test track.
The 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari is powered by a naturally aspirated 789-hp 6.3-liter V-12 mated to a 161-hp electric motor. Total system output is rated 950 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sends power to the rear wheels exclusively. On three successive passes, the LaFerrari ran the quarter mile in an uncorrected 9.96 seconds at 148 mph. Corrected, the hybrid supercar hit 60 mph in 2.4 seconds and finished the quarter mile in 9.7 seconds at 148.5 mph and hit 150 mph in 10 seconds flat. The LaFerrari also pulled 1.0 g from 0-65 mph.
