SEMA-Bound Kia Sedona Hauls Go-Karts

Many professional drivers have roots in go-kart racing, which is why Kia has tricked out a 2015 Sedona into a go-kart-towing minivan for the 2014 SEMA Show starting next week.

The special Sedona stays true to the “Day at the Races” theme by boasting the same distinctive Kinetic Motorsports Red exterior paint and white vinyl graphics worn by the championship-winning Kia Racing Optimas. White 20-inch wheels add some more visual flair, but what makes this Sedona truly special is the custom-built kart rack on top of the minivan, which has a CRG Bambino kart and Fiamma F35 Pro Awning strapped to it. Matching the Sedona with the same color scheme, a custom-built aluminum trailer painted in red and sporting 18-inch powder-coated white wheels carries a CRG Road Rebel shifter kart.

While the concept will be the only go-kart-hauling machine displayed at Kia’s booth, it won’t be the only Sedona minivan. Another Sedona has been transformed into a mobile bar. The automaker paired with a Southern California-based brewery for this creation, which appears to have a built-in countertop that folds out. A Soul EV that has been made into an ice cream truck will also be on display.

We’ll know more about the go-kart concept and the other two show cars closer to their reveal at the 2014 SEMA Show, which begins next week.
