Report: 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 Priced from $49,995
Leaked documents also reveal GT350R starts at $63,495.
According to documents leaked by HorsepowerKings.com, the 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 will start at $49,995 including an $825 destination fee and a $1,300 gas guzzler charge. A Ford representative told us that while the automaker has not yet announced official pricing for the GT350, the prices in the document are "accurate" -- meaning the GT350 will be a performance bargain. The closest direct rival to the GT350 and GT350R, the All-Star-winning Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, starts at $75,000 after destination and gas-guzzler charges.
The performance-focused 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 features a standard flat-plane-crank 5.2-liter V-8 engine making more than 500 hp, as well as Brembo brakes, dual exhaust with quad tips, 19-inch black-painted aluminum wheels, and Recaro cloth/suede seats. A $6,500 Track Package reportedly brings extras like performance-tuned front springs and a raised decklid spoiler, while a $7,500 Technology Package nets an 8-inch touchscreen, 7-speaker audio system as well as voice-activated navigation and power adjustable leather-trimmed front seats.
Step up to the track-focused 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R model, and you'll gain a carbon fiber rear wing, 19-inch carbon-fiber wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tires, and a specially tuned chassis. All this comes in exchange for deleting the rear seat, air conditioning, and other creature comforts in an effort to save weight. These track-oriented goodies bring the car's price up $13,500 to $63,495.
Other options on the 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 include a painted black roof ($695), "Over-the-Top Racing Stripe" ($475), Triple Yellow tri-coat paint ($495), and Electronics Package for the R model ($3,000). Check out the leaked documents here.
