Nissan Partners with Muscle Milk Pickett Racing to Rejoin Sports Car Racing

Nissan is rejoining the world of sports car racing in the U.S. thanks to its new partnership with the Mulcle Milk Pickett Racing team. The team will race a Nissan-powered car in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, and the Petit Le Mans this season as part of the new Tudor United SportsCar Championship series.

Nissan will also provide drivers for the team thanks to the Nismo Global Driver Exchange program. This program means that various Nissan international drivers will compete for the team, joining Muscle Milk Pickett Racing’s two drivers, Lucas Luhr and Klaus Graf. The first Nissan driver to join the team will be Alex Brundle, who will race at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona later this month.

Muscle Milk Pickett Racing’s ORECA 03 racer will compete in the prototype class at Daytona, Sebring, and Petit Le Mans which takes place in Atlanta. These races will be part of the new Tudor United SportCar Championship series, which was announced last year, and Daytona will be the first race of the inaugural 2014 season.

Nissan has a long history in sports car racing, as it won four driver’s championships and three manufacturer’s titles between 1988 and 1991; stay tuned this season to see if this new racer can bring home the goods for the new team.
