If nothing else, GM is being quite sly on the eve of the 2010 Detroit auto show. In addition to releasing images of an interesting GMC concept through its Flickr account, an image — purportedly the next-generation Chevrolet Aveo — was posted on a corporate Twitter account.
We’re told the car was shown to employees at the facility in Orion Township, Michigan, that will ultimately build the car next year. We hope they saw more than we do. Here, we’re privy to only a rear wheel, and part of the Aveo’s rear fender.
GM has said that the next Aveo will be a radical departure from the current model. We hear four round headlamps, a wedged body shape with an angled shoulder, and hidden rear door handles are a few of the exterior design cues that will be part of the finished product.
We’ll have more images when the Aveo is revealed next week at the 2010 Detroit auto show. Stay with Automobile Magazine for all the latest news from the show floor.
