Limited Edition “Blood-Dipped” Vinyl Pressing Celebrates Five Years Since “Drive” Hit Theaters
Four songs from Winding Refn’s hit film
Five years have passed since Nicolas Winding Refn's "Drive" hit the theaters. To celebrate, a record label just released a portion of the film's fantastic soundtrack on a special limited-release vinyl pressing.
Despite the dominance of digital music, vinyl has endured through the decades and has even seen year-over-year growth in an industry long thought dead in the 1980s and 1990s. Releasing an LP on vinyl is a way for fans to get their hands on something more substantial than a digital download, and so far, it seems to be working. In the case of the new "Drive" 12", each copy comes with some seriously cool artwork, including a special "blood-dipped" vinyl design.
According to the label's website, just four songs will appear on the pressing. Each of the four tracks is featured heavily in the movie, including the fan favorite "A Real Hero" from College & Electric Youth. This is the first time this collection has ever been offered in a 45 rpm cut.
We're not sure how many of these will be offered, so pick yours up before it runs out. Head over to the label website to check out the awesome artwork and see the full track listing.
