Jeep Renegade, Cherokee, Compass, and Patriot Updated for 2016

No Jeep left behind.

For 2016, Fiat Chrysler upgraded the entire lineup of compact Jeeps, from the Patriot to the Cherokee. Many of the updates were new paint colors and more standard equipment, but some models gained all-new trim packages.

The 2016 Jeep Compass receives a laundry list of upgrades, including a bucket of new standard features. Now, the base Jeep Compass comes standard with the Uconnect handsfree interface and Sirius XM radio with a one-year subscription. Hop on up to the Latitude trim level, and you will find it now comes with automatic headlights. A new Mojave Sand paint color is also available.

A new Sport SE package is added to the 2016 Jeep Compass, which includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated cloth front seats, gray aluminum wheels, as well as gray-trimmed grille rings, foglight bezels, roof rails, rear fascia, Sport SE badging, and a new liftgate lip for models equipped with backup camera. A new chromed exhaust tip is also included.

Only minor changes were made to the 2016 Jeep Cherokee after the model was more heavily revised for 2015. For the new model year, the SUV gains two new paint colors; Rhino Clear Coat and Light Brownstone. Enhancements to the steering column tilt adjustment, the instrument cluster, and front seats are also included. The Cherokee's Uconnect infotainment system gained a software update as well, with models equipped with the optional 8.4-inch touchscreen gaining a new drag-and-drop menu bar, along with the Siri Eyes Free iPhone system.

The 2016 Jeep Patriot adds a few standard features as well, with the Uconnect handsfree phone system and satellite radio now included on all trims. Automatic headlamps now come as standard on the Patriot Latitude. The Patriot also adds a raft of optional equipment as well, including a rear backup camera, and on the Latitude, automatic climate control is now optional.

The Patriot also gains the same Sport SE package now available on the Compass, with all of the same visual and interior additions as the other SUV. Aside from those included on the Compass, 2016 Jeep Patriot Sport SEs include a new Sport SE hood decal, an increased ride height for front-wheel-drive models, and additional tow hooks for the four-wheel-drive models.

The High Altitude package now comes with 17-inch Granite painted wheels, upgraded front and rear fascias, chrome roof rails, and a chrome exhaust tip. On the interior, the High Altitude gains leather upholstery, a power sunroof, and a power driver's seat.

The newest Jeep model gets updated for the 2016 model year as well. The 2016 Jeep Renegade adds an optional Beats audio system, which includes nine speakers, a 6.5-inch subwoofer, and a 506-watt amplifier. On the Limited and Trailhawk trims, rain-sensing wipers are now standard, and they become optional on the Latitude. Finally, the Renegade adds two additional paint colors, Granite Crystal Metallic and Jetset Blue Metallic Clear Coat.
