2017 Infiniti QX30, 2017 Hyundai Elantra to Debut at L.A. Show
Luxury crossover, compact sedan arrive in November.
Among the many debuts slated for this November's Los Angeles auto show, Infiniti will show a new crossover and Hyundai will reveal its newest compact sedan. The organizers of the L.A. auto show confirmed today that the 2017 Infiniti QX30 and the 2017 Hyundai Elantra will make their public debuts at the show this fall.
The 2017 Infiniti QX30 will be a crossover version of the Q30 hatchback that debuts later this month at the Frankfurt auto show. Previously shown as a concept (pictured above), the QX30 will, like the Q30, be based on the underpinnings of the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class sedan and GLA-Class crossover. Expect it to carry over much of the swooping styling from the concept, with a raised ride height and fender cladding helping to make the QX30 look tougher and more crossover-like than the standard Q30. A 2.0-liter turbo-four is likely to be the standard engine in the U.S.
The 2017 Hyundai Elantra, meanwhile, will be the first major update to the compact sedan since the current generation bowed at the 2010 L.A. auto show. Teaser photos and spy shots reveal that the 2017 Hyundai Elantra will draw interior and exterior styling cues from the Genesis luxury sedan. Beneath the surface, expect Hyundai to offer its new 1.6-liter turbo-four engine and dual-clutch automatic transmission that are available in the Sonata and Tucson.
Stay tuned for both these new models as the L.A. auto show approaches. The show's organizers say a total of 50 vehicles will be revealed in L.A. between November 17 and 19, of which 30 will be world debuts.
