Block Out: The Squared-Off Infiniti Qs Inspiration Is Definitely Not a Conventional Sedan
The concept previews a production model.
Infiniti is getting ready to unveil the latest concept in its Inspiration series. But this vehicle is more than just an idea; it previews a future production model. The Infiniti Qs Inspiration makes its official debut at Auto Shanghai next week, and the automaker has released a few photos of the sporty sedan ahead of the event.
Without going into detail, Infiniti says the model features a low-mounted electrified powertrain and all-wheel-drive system. "The raised driving position offers a clearer view of the road ahead without a raised body to compromise dynamics," Infiniti said in a press release. It will sit on a new platform developed specifically for high-performance electrified powertrains.
If you recognize this car's face, that's because it looks similar to a previous concept. This past January, Infiniti showed off the QX Inspiration electric crossover concept. This vehicle did not point to a specific model but signified the general direction for Infiniti's future crossover lineup. Last year, the automaker envisioned a midsize sedan with the Q Inspiration concept.
As we learned last year, Infiniti will become the electrified brand for Nissan. Starting in the next few years, Infiniti will spread electrification across its portfolio with both hybrid and pure EV powertrains. The Qs Inspiration will make its public debut on April 16.
