Let’s say you have a taste for the finer things. You like handcrafted wood, intricately engraved metal, and supple leather goods. You also like the great outdoors and the sound of rifle fire in the morning. Sporting gun brand Holland & Holland teamed up with Land Rover for the ultimate hunting-themed Range Rover, and it might just be the most British thing around not named Queen Elizabeth.
Holland & Holland and Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division got their hands on a Range Rover Autobiography Black, giving the already luxurious SUV the royal treatment of bespoke wood, leather, and engraved metal trim. Tan and espresso leather covers just about every surface from the seats to the door panels, calf rests, and sides of the transmission tunnel. Gorgeous walnut woodwork, carved from a single enormous piece of walnut, makes up the gunstock-style polished veneer and trim on the dashboard, doors, front center console, and re-designed extended rear center console for the long-wheelbase model. The finishing touch is engraved scroll detailing on the inside door handles, heightening the sensation that the Holland & Holland Range Rover is a finely crafted rifle on four wheels.
While the Holland & Holland Range Rover maintains the Autobiography Black’s 18-way power seats up front, rear buckets with lumbar massage and power reclining in the rear, and 10.2-inch screens mounted to the rear of the front headrests, it also adds some attributes unique to this limited-edition model. In the rear it features a leather-trimmed aluminum gun cabinet, which slides out on a deployable loadspace floor. The carrying case is itself lined with espresso Alcantara trim to keep your firearms safe and sound in transit.
The Holland & Holland Range Rover carries its refined British character to the exterior treatment, which is finished in unique dark green paint, complementing the chrome 21-inch wheels and chrome detailing. Holland & Holland badging is attached to the lower accent door badges and on the tailgate.
Both standard and long-wheelbase Range Rover models will be available with the Holland & Holland package, although Land Rover SVO is only building 40 examples per year for the next three years. The SUVs will be offered with one of two powertrains—the 4.4-liter V-8 diesel engine or the 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engine.
It won’t be coming to the U.S., but the Holland & Holland Range Rover will be sold in Europe for £180,000 ($286,255).
