Hennessey Performance has applied the VelociRaptor treatment to many cars, including a 600-hp supercharged Ford F-150, but the company’s latest creation is even larger. Based on the Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup truck, the 2015-2016 Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV has room for eight passengers and all of their stuff and manages to make the Ford Expedition EL look quaint by comparison.
The big news here is obviously the extensive custom body modifications needed to convert the Ford F-250 truck into an SUV. Hennessey says two seating arrangements are available. The first includes a seven-passenger setup with middle row captain chairs and a third-row bench. Customers can also opt for an eight-passenger arrangement with a middle-row bench.
The base kit starts with a 411-hp, 6.2-liter, gasoline V-8, though two supercharger upgrades are available. The VelociRaptor SUV can also be had with a 6.7-liter diesel, tuned to make 440 hp and 880 lb-ft of torque.
Other modifications give the VelociRaptor SUV a pretty mean look – beefier wheels, custom front and rear bumpers, a front winch, LED light bar, and an off-road suspension setup are just a few items on the upgrade list.
Converting your Ford F-250 into a VelociRaptor is neither quick nor cheap. The VelociRaptor SUV’s starting price is $159,500 and Hennessey needs about six months to complete the project. Save and plan accordingly.
