Former Ford Factory To Become Movie Studio?

Almost a year after the last car rolled off its assembly lines, Ford's Wixom Assembly Plant may once again see activity - this time, as a movie studio.

Opened in 1957, the Wixom facility was originally home to all Lincoln products, but eventually became home to the Ford Thunderbird and rear-wheel-drive Mercury Cougar products.; The factory was also responsible for production of the Ford GT supercar from 2004 through 2006, and was "idled" beginning in 2007.

Since then, most reference (including signage) to Ford has been removed from the plant.; The automaker has no plans on resuming production within the facility, and has been seeking buyers for the property over the past year.
