Feature Flick: Red Bull Racing and Infiniti Race M Hybrid on Nurburgring
Infiniti is putting its recent partnership with Red Bull Racing Formula One team to good use by producing this promo video, which highlights the M35h's performance chops. Marketed by Infiniti as a serious performance hybrid sedan, the M Hybrid is put through its paces on the Nürburgring Nordschleife by Red Bull's star driver, as he tries to outrun his teammate's gas-only M37S.
Before any action takes place on the track, we're treated to some neat graphics and a few interesting facts about the track. The video is quick to point out the Nurburging's 154 turns and 12.93-mile total length, a distinction that earns the track the nickname, "The Green Hell." The names of a few F1 legends, four of the track's "ringmeisters," are displayed prominently before the promo video's main event gets underway.
The reigning F1 world champion, Sebastian Vettel, takes the wheel of the 364-hp Infiniti M35h hybrid, while teammate and rival Mark Webber is seen hopping into a 320-hp M37 S Premium. The two top-tier drivers then take off on the straightaway as more facts are flashed on the screen - boasting the M Hybrid's 5.5-second zero-to-60 time versus the M37's time of 6.2 seconds. After a few dramatic cuts of the two mid-size luxury sedans going at it in the corners, the race victor crosses the finish line in theatrical fashion.
You can probably guess which car won, but we'll let you watch the video to find out.
