Feature Flick: Mercedes-Benz and David Coulthard Play Golf at 178 mph

What happens when you mix the sport of driving with the sport of golf? You get today's Feature Flick, in which F1 ace David Coulthard attempts to catch a golf ball in a moving SLS AMG Roadster.

Coulthard, of course, is a legendary Formula 1 driver who has since moved to racing consulting and driving a Mercedes-Benz DTM car. This time around, he suited up and strapped into a Mercedes SLS AMG roadster and lined up on a runway a few hundred yards behind pro golfer Jake Shepherd. The plan was for Coulthard to accelerate down the runway, and pass Shepherd just as he was hitting the golf ball, catching it in the open cabin.

The resulting video did involve quite a few missed tries and close calls; as Coulthard admits, "one Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG was harmed in the making of this video" when an errant ball hit the SLS' windshield, but the results make for good viewing.

Check out the original video, along with multiple camera angles and a behind-the-scenes video below and let us know what you think (or if you think you could top that).
