Feature Flick: 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Tested On Ignition
Testing a 575-hp Aston Martin in California.
This week, our colleagues at Motor Trend put a 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S to the test on the latest episode of Ignition. With a 6.0-liter V-12 engine rated for 565 hp and 457 lb-ft, the V12 Vantage S is one of the British marque's sportiest offerings.
First, the 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S heads to the track, where it sets a 4.1-second 0-to-60-mph time. That falls short of the 3.7-second time claimed by Aston Martin, but it's still an impressive feat. "You really feel this engine pull harder as you rev it higher," says host Carlos Lago. "It also sounds absolutely terrific."
On the skidpad, the Aston Martin again impresses as it clings on with 1.01-g of lateral grip. Moreover, Lago finds the car's balance as he wrings out the V12 Vantage S around twisty California roads.
"This really taps into all the senses, aside from smell," Lago says. "This car makes you laugh. This car just makes you feel real good."
