Feature Flick: 2014 Kia Forte Says “Respect the Tech”
Kia’s creepy robot gets more animated and less violent.
You may remember the Kia "Hotbots" ad from the 2013 Super Bowl where a strange humanoid robot woman beat up an innocent observer of the new 2014 Kia Forte as part of the car's "Respect the Tech" campaign. Now, Kia must have decided that violence is not the answer, as three new ads for the 2014 Kia Forte take "Respect the Tech" in an new, less painful direction.
These three new spots feature the same bionic woman from before, but now in a newly animated form. The new Hotbot is also a lot nicer than before, too, using her superhuman powers for good rather than evil as she does her best to protect the 2014 Kia Forte from the elements without harming any humans in the process.
The three animated ads, entitled "Seagulls," "Outdoor Garage," and "Shade Tree," don't say much about the Forte, but the simplistic animation is a nice change from the creepy real-life Hotbots. The 2014 Kia Forte is Kia's latest entry in the contentious compact sedan class. Available with a choice of a 148 hp, 1.8-liter or a 173 hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder, the 2014 Kia Forte starts at $16,700 with destination. Coupe and hatchback models will be coming later this year in the form of the 2014 Kia Forte Koup and Forte5, respectively.
For now, check out the three new Forte ads below.
