Dodge Challenger GT AWD, Dart GLH, Charger Concepts Debut at SEMA
Mopar is in full swing.
Fiat Chrysler and its Mopar aftermarket arm are in full swing at the 2015 SEMA show, and three Dodge concepts are meant to show the full range of Mopar parts available for cars like the Dodge Challenger, Charger, and Dart.
Dodge Challenger GT AWD Concept
Will the Dodge Challenger be the first of the Big Three Detroit musclecars to add an all-wheel-drive option? This Challenger GT AWD concept car for the 2015 SEMA show suggests that it may be a possibility. With a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 putting power down to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Challenger GT AWD concept is what Dodge calls a "year-round musclecar." Mopar isn't saying exactly how much horsepower is under the hood, but the V-8 does feature the Scat Pack 3 performance kit with all sorts of engine upgrades.
Plenty of other modifications get the Dodge Challenger into the SEMA spirit, starting with a new Destroyer Grey paint scheme with Header Orange highlights. The Challenger also wears a wide body kit and larger Mopar 20-inch wheels. Quad exhaust tips out back are finished in black, as is the fuel filler door. The interior also incorporates orange accents for the seats and console.
Dodge Dart GLH Concept
We know that a performance version of the Dodge Dart compact is coming soon, and this GLH concept shown at SEMA is a bit of a preview. The GLH (Goes Like Hell) name comes from the famous Dodge Omni GLH hot hatch from the 1980s, and this customized Dart comes with a blacked-out color scheme and some extra aerodynamic bits for a sportier appearance. Mopar high-performance brakes hide behind 18-inch wheels, and the interior continues the black theme while featuring red accents.
Sadly, there's no word what's under the hood of the Dart GLH, so we'll just have to wait until the SRT version of the Dart to see a true performance variant of this compact.
Dodge Charger Deep Stage 3
The Dodge Charger also goes under the knife for SEMA, with a special concept version called the Charger Deep Stage 3. A host of engine upgrades from the Scat Pack 3 kit add 75 hp to the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 for a total of 445 hp and 439 lb-ft of torque, while a lowered suspension and a performance braking kit enhance the car's handling.
The Charger Deep Stage 3 also features a Silver Bullet exterior paint scheme with matte black stripes and a black roof. A Mopar body kit includes a front splitter, a rear spoiler, and side sills, and the Charger also has 22-inch dark bronze wheels. On the inside, the seats are trimmed in Katzkin leather with suede inserts.
All three of these Dodge concepts are being shown at the 2015 SEMA show in Las Vegas this week.
