COPO Camaros and More from the 2019 Holley LS Fest East
The Holley LS Fest is all about performance in a multitude of avenues.
Now celebrating its tenth year of LS (and now the LT) engine mayhem, the Holley LS Fest, is all about performance in a multitude of avenues. We're talking about the autocross, drifting Challenge, 3S Challenge, burnout contest, Bolt-on Power Challenge, the Dyno Challenge, and everything else happening here at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
With all that happening, it's the hard-core drag racers the put their engines on the rev limiter and do their best to balance between traction and tire smoke off the line and down the famed Beech Bend quarter-mile.
This historical drag strip located in Warren County, Kentucky, is where many legends of the sport pounded their way down one of the most picturesque drag strips in the country. Looking down track, you can almost envision the Snake and Mongoose going head to head in a classic 1970's best-of-three Friday night Funny Car match race.
Today, the Holley LS Fest, NHRA Reunion, and a multitude of other events call Beech Bend Raceway home. The track surface is top notch, making for some of the best side-by-side racing in the country.
At the LS Fest, there are plenty of drag classes that cater to the individual taste of the drag fans, featuring True Street, Grudge Test-N-Tune, Late Model Heads-Up, Street King, Chevrolet Performance Stock, LS 275, LS Ultra Street, Rumble Index, Stock Block Shootout, Stick Shift/Banger Class, and COPO Battle at the Green Camaro. Saturday's standing-room-only crowd was treated to some of the best down and dirty, grassroots drag racing in the country. The wheels-up action kept the crowd on their feet throughout the day and on into the evening.
And isn't that what drag racing is all about?
