Bentley Crafts Special Edition Arabia Models for Middle East

Earlier this year Bentley revealed special edition Continental models for the well performing Chinese market. Now, the British automaker has unveiled a pair of limited edition Continentals to cater to its discerning Middle East customers.

"We have created these exclusive new models for our ... customers in recognition of the growing importance of these influential customers," said Geoff Dowding, Bentley's regional director of Asia and the Middle East. "Bentley has a long and proud tradition of being able to design, engineer and personalize our cars to the individual styling and driving tastes of our customers and these special-edition Bentleys showcase these skills for the Middle East market".

The two models are based upon Bentley's Continental Flying Spur and Flying Spur Speed sedans. Both models receive special front fender badging, new tread plates, and a new ashtray lid badge. The upgrades all feature the "Arabia" mark. Additionally, the cars are each fitted with a new set of wheels. The Flying Spur is adorned with a new set of 14-spoke, 18-inch wheels, while the Speed gets a set of 20-inch, ten-spoke wheels that can accommodate the optional carbon-ceramic brakes.

Bentley hasn't tampered with the 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W-12 engines aboard the two models. The Flying Spur continues to make 552 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque and can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 194 mph. The Speed's slightly tuned version of the same engine makes 602 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. Its 5368 pounds are able to rocket to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and the sedan can reach 200 mph on the open road.

Over the last five years, the Middle East market has doubled its proportion of Bentley products and now makes up 10 percent of the automaker's annual sales. The sales network now includes nine showrooms spread across the region. Between the two models, Bentley's Crewe, England assembly line plans to make no more than 50 examples.
