New 2020 Land Rover Defender: Here’s Another Undisguised Look
Latest Landie breaks cover on set of the next James Bond film.
It seems like Eon Production's marketing department has no time to try and stop the latest 2020 Land Rover Defender photo leak. The next James Bond film No Time to Die will hit the big screen early next year, and the all-new Defender will play a supporting role. It's from the set of the next 007 film that an image of the rig leaked via Instagram.
Unlike the most recent leak, which came via a tiny profile image gleaned from a gauge cluster, here we get a full front three-quarter look at the latest Landie. The new image was posted by Steven Firth—a.k.a. shedlocktwothousand—on his Instagram feed and is our first clear and uncamouflaged shot of the Defender's smooth front end.
"I'm not going to get in trouble for this—because it's all over #facebook at the moment! Here is what looks like the first uncovered #defender2020—straight (apparently) from the film set of the new #bond movie!," Firth posted on his account.
We don't think whoever initially took the image will be invited back to the set after the post, but we appreciate the sneak preview. The lifted blacked-out Defender is mud-splattered and sports a small winch up front; a domed, "Puma"-style hood with what appears to be applied graphics; and wheel flares, and it rolls on off-road tires with black five-spoke wheels. It's definitely the 110 model as it sports four doors; a shorter, two-door 90 model is also on the way. It definitely looks like a perfect vehicle for a Bond villain, or perhaps some henchmen. Of course, we can still picture 007 or even Miss Moneypenny chasing baddies in it, too.
We won't have to wait too long for a full reveal: The new Defender makes its official global debut at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
