2017 Audi R8 Priced From $164,150, R8 V10 Plus from $191,150
The price of progress.
Like us, it's safe to assume you have been losing sleep over the 2017 Audi R8. Now, Audi released information on the supercar's pricing, allowing potential owners to get their finances in order ahead of the car's arrival on dealer lots.
For 2017, the Audi R8 V10 is priced from $164,150. Unlike the first generation of Audi R8, which found its motivation from a 4.2-liter V-8 engine in base trim, the new "base" version of the supercar packs a 5.2-liter V-10 engine, pushing out an impressive 540 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque. Audi claims this is good for a 3.5-second 0-60 run, with a top speed of 199 mph.
For those mad individuals who can never have enough, the R8 is available in V10 Plus spec, with the same 5.2-liter V-10 engine. In Plus specification, however, power jumps to 610 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. This means the V10 Plus slingshots to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 205 mph. Want one? Drop $191,150 and you can park one in your garage.
Just like the last Audi R8, this undercuts the Lamborghini Huracan by around $50,000, but nearly matches the upcoming 2017 Acura NSX dollar for dollar; Acura's hybrid supercar starts at from $157,800 and ranges up to $207,000. The outgoing 2016 Porsche Turbo coupe matches the base R8 at around $160,000, and the lower-performance BMW i8 undercuts Audi's supercar by nearly $20,000.
The 2017 Audi R8 V10 and V10 Plus will go on sale this spring in the U.S.
