2016 Chevrolet Trax Adds Blacked-Out Midnight Edition
Joins Silverado, Colorado, and Impala Midnight Editions.
Blacked-out trim packages are all the rage, and the 2016 Chevrolet Trax crossover is the latest member of the club with its new Midnight Edition.
As we've come to expect from the Chevrolet Colorado, Silverado, and Impala Midnight Edition models, the Trax has an all-black exterior, with black trim for the wheels, door handles, and various other trim pieces. The interior features a grey color scheme for the seats and floor mats, and is otherwise unchanged from the top-trim Trax LTZ it's based on. That means all Midnight Edition crossovers come standard with features like fog lights, leatherette seats, a Bose audio system, and 4G LTE wi-fi connectivity.
The 2016 Chevrolet Trax Midnight Edition can be had with either front- or all-wheel drive, and comes standard with the same 138-hp, 1.4-liter turbo-four engine found in all Trax models. We wonder why Chevrolet doesn't yet offer the more powerful, 153-hp 1.4-liter engine that's optional in the closely related 2016 Buick Encore, but it's possible that the Trax will gain this new engine sometime in the near future.
The Trax Midnight Edition goes on sale in February, and the appearance package costs $500 more than a standard Trax LTZ, giving it a starting price of $26,625 with destination, or $28,125 when equipped with all-wheel drive.
