After rolling out a new interlocking grille design on the Ram 1500 Rebel in Detroit, Ram is showing another new front end on the updated Ram truck lineup’s Laramie Limited trim level at the 2015 Chicago auto show. Sitting at the top of the lineup in terms of luxury content for 1500, 2500, and 3500 models, the Laramie Limited also has an improved interior and some other trim updates.
The Laramie Limited’s new grille is the biggest change on the outside, going away from the typical Ram crosshair grille and Ram’s head logo in favor of a chrome-heavy new design with “RAM” lettering in the center. Ram calls it a “billet port grille,” and it will only be available on this trim level that’s meant to give off an even more upscale impression than last year’s Laramie Limited model. The rest of the truck has other minor trim updates, such as chrome-accented body-side molding, 20-inch aluminum wheels, and a huge, 20-inch-wide chrome “RAM” badge on the tailgate flanked by new chrome accents and LED taillights.
On the inside, the already sumptuous Ram Laramie Limited cabin gains even nicer materials, with standard Black Natura Plus leather that’s trimmed with grey piping and new Argento silver pinstripe wood trim. There are also Berber-carpeted floor mats, LED lighting accents, and even special display backgrounds for the standard 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment screen.
Other standard features for the 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie Limited include an air suspension, side steps, navigation, a heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, and the RamBox storage system on Heavy Duty long-bed models. Both two- and four-wheel-drive configurations will be available with this trim, along with either single- or double-wheel versions for the Heavy Duty trucks.
The Laramie Limited trim will be available for 2015 Ram 1500 Crew Cab models starting in the second quarter of this year, with the trim debuting for 2016 Ram 2500 and 3500 Crew Cab and Mega Cab models starting in the third quarter of this year.
