2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Costs $60,990

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat definitely makes some big numbers—707 hp and an 11.2-second quarter mile—and we now have one more important number: $60,990. That's the official starting price, including destination and gas guzzler tax, of this ridiculously powerful musclecar, as Chrysler just announced full pricing for the 2015 Dodge Challenger lineup today.

Given the Challenger Hellcat's dominant horsepower number, that price is remarkably close to other high-powered musclecar competitors like the $57,650, 580-hp Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 (including destination and gas guzzler tax) and the outgoing $55,935, 662-hp Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (including destination).

A $60,990 starting price also doesn't put the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat too far above the standard Dodge Challenger SRT 392 or R/T Scat Pack models, which now cost $39,490 for the Scat Pack and $46,990 for the SRT 392. Given that these two lesser Challengers make a relatively paltry 485 hp from its 6.4-liter Hemi V-8, ponying up the extra cash for the Hellcat's 222 extra horsepower in addition to its numerous other chassis and appearance upgrades doesn't seem all that unreasonable to us.

As for the rest of the updated 2015 Dodge Challenger lineup, the base Challenger SXT with the 3.6-liter V-6 costs $27,990 with destination and the Hemi V-8-powered Challenger R/T starts at $32,490. All versions of the 2015 Challenger go on sale this fall. Check out our sneak preview video of the 707-hp Hellcat below.
