Bndan Gillogly grew up in Prunedale, California, the semi-official center of the universe, where he cultivated a love of cars, thanks to older brothers and their mini-trucks and one very yellow, very ’80s ’67 Camaro that would have made the Crusher proud. Trips to nearby Goodguys shows in Monterey and the occasional figure-8 race at the Watsonville Speedway also fostered a love of hot rods and race cars. Brandan began work as a photographer while earning a B.A. in Trivia at the University of California at Davis. Already hooked on cars and getting paid to take photos, he thought being a magazine editor seemed like the perfect career once he graduated. Brandan moved to Southern California and in 2005 was hired at Truckin’ magazine, where he became the feature editor, shooting everything from cover features to tech installs. He joined the HOT ROD staff in 2011 and participated in his first Power Tour® before the ink on his business cards was dry.
