Scion Company Overview
The Scion marque was created by Toyota Motor Corporation in 2003 in concern it was losing the American youth segment.
The first Scions, the xA hatchback and the crossover xB, debuted at the 2003 Los Angeles Auto Show went on sale later that year at various Toyota dealerships. Unlike most other brands, Scions are sold as one trim with the buyer selecting which options they want to equip their vehicle. Scion also offers special limited editions called "Release Series". Finally, Scion dealers are forbidden by Toyota to haggle on pricing or mark up the MSRP.
In 2004, Scion debuted the tC, a coupe. Both the xA and xB have been discontinued
