2011 toyota sequoia Reviews and News

2011 Toyota Sequoia
2011 Toyota Sequoia
The Toyota Sequoia has recently been introduced as the newest competitor in the full size SUV category. The Sequoia sits in the middle of a competition with some huge competitors like the Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition. The design of the Sequoia has focused on the interior design of the cabin more than anything, even putting its off road ability second in line. The fact is that most buyers of these huge full sized SUVs are more interested in a lavishly equipped interior than they are about how well it will do in the rough off road conditions that SUVs were initially intended for. This is the thought behind the Toyota design and many younger consumers are only interested in gadgetry, this seems to hold very true.

The 2011 offers two different V-8 engines one offering 310 horsepower and the other offering 381 horsepower. The larger engines combined with a six speed automatic give the Sequoia a very powerful and smooth ride that must be experienced to be appreciated, but this vehicle is far from capable when it comes to its off road abilities.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama
A series of violent storms and tornadoes that tore through the southern U.S. on Wednesday has halted production at a Toyota and a Mercedes-Benz factory in Alabama. The storms knocked out power lines to the factories and shut down some roads, causing an interruption of supply deliveries, according to Automotive News.
2011 Toyota Sequoia Front Three Quarter
Look on the side of a road during a snow storm, and you’ll almost always see many more trucks than cars. As a product of a stubbornly car-loyal New England family, I’ve long assumed this was further evidence -- as if any more were needed -- of my superior driving ability. If I can pilot a front-wheel drive sedan down a slushy highway then surely that four-wheel drive GMC Jimmy should’ve been able to avoid the ditch, right?

Remedy
FOR THE LAND CRUISER, SEQUOIA, TACOMA AND TUNDRA VEHICLES, THE DEALER WILL RE-CALIBRATE THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM ON AFFECTED VEHICLES AND INSTALL AN UPDATED TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION LABEL AT NO CHARGE. Summary
Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain models interspersed through model years 2009 through 2013 as follows: model year 2009-2012 Tacoma, 4Runner, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Prius, and RAV4; model year 2009-2010 Avalon, FJ Cruiser, and Highlander Hybrid; model year 2010-2013 model year Corolla, Sienna and Tundra; model year 2009-2013 Highlander and Venza; model year 2012 Prius V; and model year 2010-2012 Sequoia. During modification by SET to include accessories such as leather seat covers, seat heaters or headrest DVD systems, these vehicles may not have had the passenger seat occupant sensing system calibration tested. Without passing the calibration test, the occupant sensing system may not operate as designed.
Consequences
If the front passenger seat occupant sensing system is out of calibration, the front passenger airbags may not deploy or they may deploy inappropriately for the passenger's size and position. This could increase the risk of personal injury during the event of a vehicle crash necessitating airbag deployment.
Remedy
Southeast Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will test the sensitivity of the occupant detection sensors, and recalibrate them as necessary. The recall began on March 21, 2013. Owners may contact Southeast Toyota at 1-800-301-6859.
