Alfa-Romeo in the USA? Why won't this be yet another introduction to yet another endless delay? If they'd have come a year or two ago (as they announced), I'd have an Alfa now. But I'm worn out. None will be considered until they're on the streets here for a year!

Giulietta 1.4 isn't GTI's and Mazdaspeed3 competitor, but a regular Golf and Mazda3. Mazdaspeed3 and GTI's competitor is Giulietta QV 1.7.Giulietta has a price on par with Golf in Europe. In Europe GTI has almost a same price as Giulietta QV. In US, even if Alfa prices Giulietta higher than Golf, it certainly won't be more than $2,000 or $3,000.So, Giulietta 1.4 turbo like you just tested should start at $20,000, and 1.7T QV will start around $26,000, which is just between GTI and Audi A3 2.0T. And in Europe, Giulietta is couple of grand cheaper than comparable Audi A3.And the engine which you just tested will be in next Dodge Hornet or Dart or whatever they had decided to call a Caliber replacement. So, it will be interesting to se 1.4 turbo in Dodge compact vs 1.4T in Cruze, 1.8 in Elantra and 2.0 in Focus.
