I envy the lucky kids who are fortunate enough to own one of these cars, and not just because they're several decades younger than this old codger. In terms of safe and enjoyable speed, there is no finer ride than a Honda with a capital S somewhere in its name. You get a wild engine that revs to the stars, a shifter/clutch combo that's a joy to exercise, and a stylish yet functional interior and exterior. Consumption of precious natural resources and environmental impact are both modest in every version of the Honda Civic. The only detail I'd change is a location swap between the speedometer and the tachometer to give the rev counter the top billing it deserves. The $25,000 price for a new Si is a bit steep for my budget, but overall this is the perfect reward for model children of any age. Don Sherman, Technical Editor

I AGREE WITH EVERYONE ELSE 25,000 IS WAY TO MUCH FOR A CIVIC SI 5,000 TO MUCH, HOPE HONDA GET THEIR CRAP TOGETHER. WHAT HAPPEN TO A HONDA 2 SEATER 4CLY LIGHT WEIGHT REVS TO THE STARSAND HAD THE BADEST 6 SP IN HISTORY AND FUN AS HELL TO DRIVE FOR UNDER 20,000.OH YEAH THEY KILLED ALL OF THEM: S2000, DEL-SOL SI, CRX SI (OWNED 2).SAD TO SAY I FEEL HONDA IS TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH TOYOTA WITH THIS HYBRID S***THAT THE LOST THEIR WAY.

I have a 2007 si sedan I bought new. After sorting out some 3rd gear issues early on, under warranty, this car has been a joy to own and drive. This is the 4th Honda my family has owned since our first in 1994. They seem to get better and better. Keep up the good work Honda!
