I own a 2007 Fit Sport manual/trans. With over 15,000 miles, I am averaging 37.24 MPG (city/hwy) combined, and I could not be more pleased with it. Because of this, the change in the price of gasoline has minor significance for me. Everything I have read about the 2009 Fit(including this article) tells me that Honda has done a great job in making a good car better. But would I buy a 2009 Fit?  No! Not because I don't think it is a better car (it is), but because I keep my new cars for years to minimize depreciation. Good work Honda!

My friend's 07 Fit Auto averages around 28 mpg mixed.  He drives 15 miles back and forth to work on highway, he only drives it on the weekend in city errands.  So, I guess 28mpg is pretty okay with a small car.  The power leaves something for desire.  We were onramp and sometimes it takes some planning to merge with the ongoing freeway traffic.  Once, we were in Ikea, and we couldn't fit everything.  So, we had to go back there again.  So, the name Fit isn't really 100% what it means.  But, you get a pretty economic car and hopefully it will not break easily.  I am waiting for the Ford Fiesta 5 door hatchback by the way. It has been tested to top every small cars in the segment with mpg up to 40+mpg and sportiness unmatched in the same segment.
