It appears that Subaru devoted too much of their attention toward changing the formerly funky Forester into a smoothly styled, mainstream family wagon and not enough to improving the car's dynamics. The steering is too quick and unpredictable off-center. The engine is reasonably powerful but utterly without character, which is strange for a turbocharged motor. The interior is pretty nice, and I appreciate the large sunroof and the big bins between the front seats to hold all the detritus of modern nomadic life, but overall the vehicle did little to inspire me.
