i've owned camaros for better than 20 yrs i don't know what special mustang you drove but the ones i ever drove were a piece of junk and never been beaten in a drag race by a mustang so i'll be driving camaros for a long time until maybe one day ford ever builds something thats worth buying and that probably for me won't happen....thanks !

@idsnoguy247 You must not have raced a Mustang in 20 years which explains why you haven't lost.  The current offerings put Camaros to shame left and right.  Who would have thought the Camaro is now better around turns and gets killed in straight lines by the Mustang?  These are interesting times indeed...

Inside Line: GT 13.3 sec @ 107.3 mph, SS 13.1 sec @ 110.4 mph

Around a track there is no comparison.

2013 C&D Lightning Lap:

FERRARI 458 ITALIA 2:49.9

LEXUS LFA 2:55.1

CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 2:57.5

MERCEDES-BENZ C63 AMG BLACK SERIES 2:58.0

PORSCHE 911 CARRERA S 2:58.9

FORD SHELBY GT500 3:00.6

CHEVROLET CAMARO SS 1LE 3:01.5

FORD MUSTANG 302 LAGUNA SECA 3:02.8 (2012 run)

There's a $37k Camaro running less than a second slower than Ford's top dog $63k, 662HP GT500.  By comparison the $58k, 580HP ZL1 blows all of them away.

For that great low price, I might get the Camaro 1LE, remove the ridiculous black hood decal, install a bigger oem rear spoiler, and go directly to the track. This car is track ready!!. Bye! Bye! Mustang BOSS, Laguna & GT Brembo. Probably the only pride left for the Mustang is the '13 Shelby GT500 that competes with the also great Camaro ZL1, and probably the Mustang V6 that is better than the Camaro V6 (for how long?). Mustang might get even until the '15 Mustang arrives with the much needed new IRS. This is how it will look, a fight of Mayweather VS Paquiao.
