danwat1234 5pts The 2013 ILX hybrid doesn't have an Atkinson cycle engine like other full hybrids like the 2013 Accord hybrid, that's why it's only rated at around 39MPG combined. Honda/Acura, Earth Dreams engines would be nice to have across the Acura and Honda lineup. It'll have Atkinson cycle and OTTO cycle combined in one engine, where in the case of a high load the engine will be in OTTO cycle mode and when you are driving economically, the engine will be in Atkinson cycle mode, so hybrid like MPG without necessarily the weaker drivetrain and batteries of a hybrid car
andyoo 5pts Really Acura?I have a 2004 TSX that has more horse power and drives better and has more space and only costed me 27K.I do like my TSX since it is already at 150K mile and still going strong. So I assume the new 2.4 will last just as long. However...with leather seat...30K$ for a civic with better packaging? that is a full 10K over a loaded civic... And the look is just boring. for 810$ and I will rather get a 2012 TSX...since the 2.4 engine will eat just as much gas. Aim at kids? which kid has 30K for a starter car?fully loaded a mazada speed 3 or civic si with more horsepower and even add leather seat and price is still a few grand lower..if you can afford a loaded ILX, you can afford a TSX. What's a extra 1 grand on a 6 years loan? If you can't afford TSX...you can't afford ILX either.
enthusiast88 5pts They might as well just put Honda badges on the current Acuras, since these are no longer "luxury" brand, and the current Hondas are just kind of sad. From a former Honda/Acura fan.
dluhowy 5pts I like it. Much more a driver's car than the Verano, better fuel economy, better suspension, lighter, and more reliable.
Autosoc 5pts The ILX is exactly what Acura needs -- an underengineered, boring, already out-of-date, overpriced, car to regain market share and reputation. Acura has already abandoned the upper market, so focus on the lower end of the market. Start with a BRZ fighting coupe in mid-20s, a four-door pocket rocket Mazdaspeed 3 fighter with a touch of luxury in upper-20s, a 3-series mid-size contender in the mid-30s, and a 5-series competitor that tops off in the 50s. Yes, get an 8 speed transmission, and make them rear drive. Lose the beak -- no one likes it. They all have to have cutting edge technology, and learn from Apple -- people will pay for cool!
