It is hard to understand why the Elantra and Accent are priced so close together. It is hard to justify both, especially when you start adding options because they are basically the same price. The Koreans are really on a roll and really seem to have the pulse of the American buyer of all ages. Honda and Toyota should take notice and get off their haunches. Decontenting is the wrong direction to be heading in just to increase profits at the cost of alienating loyal customers. Hyundai still has a way to go but based on the new Accent, Elantra, Sonata, and Genesis, their batting average is world record setting.

A power sunroof and heated front seats are both standard on the GLS hatchback here in Canada. I'm looking to get a blue 6 speed manual GLS hatch in a few weeks time. It's an awesome value up here, $17,199 is the MSRP. The Fiesta hatchback up here is about $3000 more!

Sounds like there is a lot of overlap in size, performance and fuel economy with the Elantra? Won't these cars just compete with each other?

Sounds like a big step forward from the previous Accent that lacked style and safety. But saying the tsunami-related supply problems couldn't have come at a better time for Korean automakers is like saying 9/11 couldn't have come at a better time for Amtrak. When thousands of innocent people are killed, there is no "better time" for anyone.

What happened to the 2 door hatch? It seems that all the new hatches only come with 4 doors. Some of us really don't need the rear seat and the 2 door would look alot better, while making it easier to get in and out of.
