2008 Pratt & Miller Corvette C6RS

Research the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette

Go
Pratt & Miller Engineering runs the highly successful Corvette factory racing team in the American Le Mans series (ALMS). Pratt & Miller also builds its own mega Corvette, the C6RS. At first glance, you may think that the C6RS's $187,500 price is a typo. On top of that, the number doesn't include the cost of a customer-supplied Corvette Z06 donor car. But before you write off the C6RS as a slightly less powerful ZR1 for more than double the price, you have to look at the details. The standard fiberglass body panels are replaced with a wider, full-carbon-fiber set of duds modeled after the Corvette ALMS racing car. Under the hood lies a 600-hp, 600-lb-ft, 8.2-liter V-8 - complete with a billet-aluminum-block - built by engine partner Katech Performance. The suspension is height-adjustable, and the transmission is fully blueprinted. The list goes on and on. The result is one of the most well-sorted Corvettes we've ever driven. The C6RS rides well on the street and is wonderfully balanced on the track. The giant engine is a masterpiece of pure, normally aspirated power - sometimes, there is no substitute for displacement. Sure, you can get a Ferrari 430 Scuderia for the same money as the C6RS, but if you're looking for the ultimate Corvette, Pratt & Miller delivers.
