2010 Audi Q5 reviews to date

Months in fleet: Two
Miles to date: 5935

In just eight weeks our stylish crossover has racked up some 5935 miles. The recent extended holiday weekends have allowed staffers to hit the road and get some real impressions about our Q5.

After spending a week in the car, senior web editor Phil Floraday spoke highly of Audi's newest crossover. "I'm particularly impressed by how well the transmission holds gears during hard acceleration followed by a brief lift of the accelerator," he said, adding, "Audi doesn't program the transmission to upshift as quickly as some other companies, which is much, much nicer for those of us who drive a little more aggressively."

But for those who are looking for a more casual and comfortable ride, the Q5 graciously abides. It calmly rolls over pothole-stricken Michigan roads without jarring passengers, and thanks to the Michelin Latitude winter tires, the Q5 easily tackles deep snowdrifts that find their way into your path.

Because we've been so quickly putting on miles, we've already taken the Q5 in for its first service. Audi's 5000-mile service is free for owners and gives our Q5 new oil and filter, along with a tire rotation.

We now head into the dead of winter. Let's hope the Ibis white Audi doesn't get lost in a snowdrift.
