Nissan thought inside the box for its latest promotional video that was made in partnership with Amazon.com. After showing the 2014 Nissan Versa Note for sale on the popular retail website, Nissan actually delivered on its promise by sending a giant cardboard box with a Versa Note inside to a customer in Madison, Wisconsin.
SAN DIEGO – In Nissan’s eyes, the 2014 Nissan Versa Note hatchback cannot go on sale soon enough. According to John Brancheau, vice president of marketing for Nissan, production of the Note’s predecessor – the 2012 Nissan Versa hatchback – ended in December 2012, and American dealers have since sold most of their small hatchback stock.
Despite being an all-new vehicle, the 2014 Nissan Versa Note may be slightly cheaper than the vehicle it replaces. Nissan says pricing for the 2014 Versa Note starts at $14,780, including $790 in destination charges.
Nissan is recalling certain model year 2014 Versa Note vehicles manufactured April 23, 2013, through July 5, 2013. The rear seat latch bolts may have been manufactured incorrectly, reducing their strength.
If the rear seat latch bolts break, the rear seats may not perform as designed in a crash, increasing the risk of injury to back seat occupants.
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear seat latch bolts, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin August 19, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
