We know that powerful sports coupes like the 2015 Lexus RC F can raise their drivers’ pulses, flooding the driver with adrenaline as he or she exercises a car’s engine and suspension on winding roads. But now Lexus has teamed up with an advertising agency to develop a version of the RC F that communicates that level of excitement with other people.
The customized 2015 Lexus RC F has special body panels covered in an electroluminescent paint from Luminor. When electric charges are sent to the various panels, they light up, allowing the car’s bodywork to “pulse” with light. Inside the cabin, special connections allow a computer to monitor the driver’s heartbeat and pulse, syncing the lights with the pumping of his or her heart. The result is a car that literally shows outsiders how excited the driver is to be piloting a sports car.
Drivers at the wheel of the 2015 Lexus RC F are likely to have an elevated pulse, whether or not they’re driving this special version. With a 5.0-liter V-8 engine producing 467 hp and 389 lb-ft of torque, the RC F can sprint to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds before reaching a limited top speed of 170 mph. The V-8 engine has a 7,300-rpm redline, and large paddle shifters allow the driver to manipulate the eight-speed automatic transmission. Good thing enlarged brakes, with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, come as standard to keep the RC F’s power in check.
While it’s not headed to production, you can take a closer look at the light-up 2015 Lexus RC F in the video below.
