Video: Driving the 2014 Jaguar F-Type in Spain

The 2014 Jaguar F-Type is the British automaker’s first sports car since the famous E-Type about 40 years ago. In this Feature Flick, Motor Trend’s Kim Reynolds drives the F-Type through the mountains in Spain to see if how it compares to the E-Type.

Reynolds first jumps behind the wheel of the “base” F-Type V6. After glancing over the spec sheet, he decides that the best way to appreciate the F-Type is by driving it through the mountains of Spain. With its 340-hp supercharged 3.0-liter engine, Reynolds suggests that the V6 is anything but a base model. Next, he hops into the V6S with 40 hp more, bigger wheels, tires, and brakes, as well as adjustable shocks and a mechanical limited-slip differential. After playing with the V6S on the street and the Navarra Circuit, Reynolds jumps in to the top-trim V8S model.

The V8S is powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter engine that cranks out 495 hp. With the additional power and added nose weight, Reynolds notes the F-Type V8S feels like a British Shelby GT500 or older V-8 Aston Martin cars.

Which Jaguar F-Type model does Reynolds think best represents the famed E-Type? Check out the video below to find out.
