Video: 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Debuts New TV Ads

The 2014 S-Class goes on sale today, and a new ad campaign debuts as well.

To accompany the arrival of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class in dealerships nationwide today, Mercedes is releasing a new ad campaign for the redesigned flagship sedan. The two TV spots, called “Four Words” and “Control” also debut today on-screen.

“Four Words” is the first spot, and takes a look at the storied history of Mercedes-Benz starting with founder Gottleib Daimler’s famous words, “the best or nothing” which have served as a philosophy for the brand since the first Mercedes 127 years ago. In the ad, a 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class drives past various snapshots of the brand’s history, including the first Mercedes factory, Mercedes’ Silver Arrow race cars, and through the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.

The second spot, called “Control,” focuses on various technology features found in the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, showing how the S-Class is “the highest expression of Mercedes-Benz.” Features highlighted in this spot include its interior lighting system, available hot stone massaging seats, and the available cabin fragrance system that allows the driver to select a favorite scent.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class goes on sale today at a starting price of $93,825 with destination for the S550 model. This car is powered by a 4.7-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 with 455 hp. Adding 4Matic all-wheel-drive to the S550 costs $3000, and the high-performance S63 AMG model costs $140,425. Expect more variants of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class to arrive in the U.S. next year, including the S500 Plug-in Hybrid.

For now, check out the TV spots below.
