After launching the new compact sedan in Europe, General Motors has announced that it will show off its U.S.-spec 2011 Chevrolet Cruze at the L.A. Auto Show. After being launched practically everywhere else in the world, GM is finally ready to bring the Cruze to the U.S.
“With expected highway fuel economy up to 40 miles per gallon, Cruze will be extremely gas-friendly,” said Brent Dewar, Chevrolet’s vice president. “Chevrolet’s focus is on forward-looking technologies to the benefit of our customers, such as the highly efficient, small-displacement turbocharged engine in the Cruze.”
The Cruze will help bolster GM’s expanding lineup of fuel-efficient vehicles. The Cruze will be offered with a 1.4-liter turbocharged I-4 engine that offers up to 40 mpg on the expressway.
