The most distinctive new feature about the Ford Fiesta sedan is its grille. It appears our prediction that the next Fiesta will wear the 2013 Fusion’s grille was correct. Also new to the Fiesta may be LED daytime running lights integrated into the headlights and a new hood. The new Fiesta should also receive revised body panels all around, though the black body cladding makes it difficult to make out just how different the new body panels will be.
Under the hood we’re expecting the Fiesta to follow the current Ford trend of downsized engines, with Ford’s new EcoBoost 1.0-liter turbocharged I-3 being the headline act. According to Motor Trend, the 1.0-liter EcoBoost could produce around 120 hp, with an 8-perccent improvement in fuel economy in a North American application. The U.S.-spec Fiesta’s 1.6-liter I-4 produces 120 hp, which makes the EcoBoost I-3 an enticing option under the hood of the Fiesta.
The face-lifted Fiesta will likely bow late this year, or early next year.
