Those who have been waiting to purchase a new Toyota or Scion model may have good reason to finally pull the trigger. The automaker has just announced a free service program on all new Toyota and Scion models for up to two years or 24,000 miles, effective immediately.
Undoubtedly still reeling from unintended acceleration-related recalls that brought some 7.5 million vehicles back to the service bays, Toyota’s new standard service packages mirror similar deals offered as limited-time sales incentives over the summer. According to Toyota the response to the complimentary service plans was strong enough to warrant issuing them as standard with every new vehicle sale.
“The two complimentary service plans were developed to help improve overall cost of ownership and provide invaluable peace of mind for our customers,” said Bob Carter, Toyota Division group vice president and general manager. “The new programs were inspired by owner feedback and once again reflect how Toyota listens to its customers.”
Both Toyota and Scion plans include oil and filter changes, tire rotations, chassis lubrication, and a 19-point inspection. The accompanying roadside assistance program includes lockout protection, flat-tire service, towing, and jumpstarts.
