It made it! The Tesla Roadster that departed from Los Angeles almost three weeks ago arrived in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show unscathed — albeit a little dirty.
The journey included 2700 miles, 19 cities, 8 states, 1 support vehicle and a set of winter tires. Overall, the trip was a success for Tesla with no issues. The 16 drivers (who were all Tesla employees) took turns for each driving segment that ranged from around 200 miles to less than 100 miles as the little white Roadster scooted across the country. Throughout the trip, some fans who followed the progress on Twitter met the team upon their arrival at specific locations.
The roadtrip stops here, however, as the car will not be making a dead-lined drive back to the west coast.
