Spied! Next BMW X6 Receives A Slight Nip And Tuck

Since it was launched in 2008, the BMW X6 is nearing its mid-cycle refresh. Our friends at Motor Trend snapped a pre-production prototype of the 2013 facelift for the X6 out testing, and it looks like not too much new is in store for BMW’s sport activity coupe.

From what we can see in these photos, the biggest update to the X6 will be slightly revised lights, front and back. Most notably, the X6 will be adopting the same full-LED headlight setup that debuted on the 2012 6 Series. Around back, the taillights will most likely get a set of LED light pipes, similar to those used on the X5’s mid-cycle update. It also appears both front and rear bumper fascias are mildly updated as part of this refresh.

Engine and transmission choices are expected to carry over with little change. If so, options should include a 300-hp twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, a 400-hp twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8, and a 555-hp twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8. Transmission choices should continue to include both six- and eight-speed automatics, and all-wheel-drive will remain standard on all X6 variants.
