With the help of Mopar and SRT, Dunham customized the Challenger to look and drive like a modern day hotrod. Under the hood is a new Mopar 426 crate engine tuned to make 515 hp and 490 lb-ft of torque is paired to a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. Molded into the valve cover is the project car’s official name, “Ultraviolet.”
On the outside, the team added a new rear diffuser, dive-planes, new front splitter, new lower-rear spoilers, new deck-lid spoiler, and custom aluminum side sills. Front bumpers are also new and keep the slightly larger grille in place. The widened rear end wears tinted taillights, while bulging wheel flares add 4 inches to the width of the car’s body. Big 22-inch matte black wheels look even larger, thanks in part to the vehicle’s 1-inch drop.
Inside, the Challenger has been tricked out with full-grain Nappa leather seats with accent stitching on the seats and panels, and a Hurst short-throw shifter. Dunham’s name is also embroidered onto the headrests. After its appearance at SEMA, the Challenger may go straight to the track we think we have a pretty good idea of what Dunham’s going to do next with it: “We’ve done the dyno work, but nothing actually on the track yet. After we get her back home, this is one I’m looking forward to sticking my foot into.”
