Scagliarini Motorsports Builds Fiat 500-Based 504cze

A relatively unknown tuning company in Boulder, Colorado has released their take on the Fiat 500. Called the 504czè Coupè Zagato Elaborata, the unique car looks somewhat like an Italian delivery van.

We liken the 504czè to a van because its rear-quarter windows have been filled. It is based on the Fiat 500 Coupe by Zagato that bowed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. With its bright-orange paint, multitude of carbon-fiber body add-ons, and 17-inch OZ Racing wheels, the 504czè looks like a car-tuner’s dream machine. The acronym czè stands for Coupè Zagato Elaborata.

Scagliarini Motorsports managing director Michael Salvarani says he got the inspiration for the 504czè while out on a bicycle ride. The car’s chassis is based on that of a European-spec Fiat 500 Abarth and uses the all-wheel-drive system from a Fiat Panda, with a locking differential added for good measure.

Other technical components encompass Brembo brakes, a roll cage, Alcantara Abarth bucket seats, a louder Ragazzon EVO exhaust, Pirelli PZero Nero tires, and Koni suspension. At the car’s heart is a turbocharged 1.4-liter inline-four MultiAir with 180 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque, coupled to a five-speed manual transmission.

The 504czè is just a one-off show car, but Scagliarini Motorsports promises that they could build a small production run if there’s enough interest. The question is, will anybody want this bright-orange, compact van-like Fiat?
