Saleen Performance Vehicles will be giving Ford fans a treat at this year’s 25th Annual Fabulous Fords Forever! event at Knott’s Berry Farm, Buena Park, California, with the debut of its 2010 Saleen S281 convertible.
Based off of the 2010 Ford Mustang, the stunning black S281 convertible, accompanied by its Saleen 435S and silver coupe escorts, will greet the crowds with a rumble from its VI.5 twin-screw supercharged 4.6-liter V-8 engine. A five-speed manual transmission barely provides control over the available 485 hp and 460 pound-feet of torque. Notes Mike Shields, CEO of Saleen Performance Vehicles, “the new S281 is an excellent example of what those words mean when we craft concepts into real cars. Our team has done a terrific job; I’m proud of them and proud to be offering this car to our customers.”
Ford is also celebrating at the event this year the 25th anniversary of the Taurus; the 70th anniversary of the Lincoln Continental; and the 50th and 55th birthdays of the sorely missed Ford Falcon and Thunderbird, respectively.
