Recall Central: Faulty Airbags in Coda Sedans, Infiniti JX Fuel Gauge May Give False Reading

Coda is recalling 78 2012 model-year sedans for improperly installed side airbags, while Nissan is recalling certain 2013 Infiniti JX35 models due to a fuel tube issue.

2012 Coda

The Problem: Side curtain airbags in certain 2012 Coda electric vehicles may have improperly installed side curtain airbags that may not deploy during a side impact collision, increasing the risk of injury.

The Fix: Coda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect potentially affected vehicles. If the issue is found, dealers will reinstall airbags for free. Owners can contact Coda Automotive at 1-855-464-2632.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 78 2012 model year Coda electric vehicles.

2013 Infiniti JX35

The Problem: Fuel transfer tubes inside the fuel tank may be routed incorrectly and could prevent the fuel level float from lowering as the fuel level drops. The fuel gauge may indicate more fuel in the tank than there actually is, which could result in the vehicle running out of fuel and stalling in traffic.

The Fix: Nissan will begin notifying owners September 4, 2012 to bring their vehicles to a dealer for inspection. If the problem exists on their vehicle, a new O-ring will be installed free of charge. Owners can contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 7842 model year 2013 Infiniti JX crossovers built between February 15, 2012, and June 22, 2012.
