Recall Central: Audi Recalls 2012 Q5 Models Over Sunroof Concerns

Audi will recall 13,172 2012 Q5 crossovers to replace a sunroof that’s susceptible to breakage in extremely cold weather.

The Problem: Certain model-year 2012 Audi Q5s may be equipped with a faulty sunroof panel. The glass used in this panel can break in extreme cold conditions, potentially injuring the driver and passengers, and causing a crash if the unit breaks while driving.

The Fix: To remedy this, Volkswagen will notify owners of the recall, while dealers will replace the sunroof glass free of charge. The recall is expected to be carried out starting on August 7, 2012. Owners may contact Audi with questions at 1-800-822-2834.

Number of Vehicles Affected: The recall covers 13,172 model-year 2012 Audi Q5 vehicles manufactured from June 21, 2011 through December 9, 2011.
